MADISON - One day after falling short in the semifinal round of the Big Ten tournament, the Wisconsin Badgers (24-9) earned a No. 4 seed in the NCAA tournament, marking the 11th-consecutive tournament appearance for head coach Bo Ryan and 14th overall for Wisconsin.

UW will play No. 13 Montana in Thursday's second round action from Albuqurque. No. 5 Vanderbilt will play No. 12 Harvard in the same pod.

The Grizzlies (25-6) won the Big Sky conference regular season championship and Big Sky conference tournament. Montana features three players averaging double-digit scoring, led by junior guard Will Cherry (16 points, 3.9 rebounds and 3.4 assists per game). Former Badger standout Freddie Owens (01-04) is currently an assistant coach for the Grizzlies.
